Independent Testing/Certification Capability Statement

CorLa now have a very experienced Construction Management/Independent Certification team, which has managed numerous construction projects and over recent years developed its Independent Certification capability.

Brian Pluck has led as Project Director on all Independent Certifier commissions and Employers Agent roles for CorLa. CorLa has worked/is working on several Independent Certifier commissions with contracts direct with the Public Sector, most notably at:

Langdon School –
This is a part new build part refurbished Secondary School value £25m for Newham Council. The Builders are Laing O’Rourke.

Brampton and Vicarage Primary Schools –
These are part new build part refurbished Primary Schools, combined capital value £10m for Newham Council. The Builders are Laing O’Rourke.

Royal Dock Special Needs School – This is a refurbished Special Needs School with extensive external works value £1.5m. The Builders are Jerram Falkus.

Brentwood Community Hospital – this was a £23m new build hospital and the clients were Kajima Investments and South West Essex PCT. The project was successfully completed with CorLa engaged as Independent Certifier with Mansell’s as the Building Contractor.

Prospect Park Hospital –
this was a £2.5m extension and refurbishment of an existing PFI hospital. The clients were Prospect Healthcare Ltd (Kier Southern Ltd and ISS Mediclean Ltd) and Berkshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The project was successfully completed with CorLa engaged as Independent Certifier with Kier Southern as the Building Contractor.

Stoke Mandeville Hospital –
this was a £50m new build and refurbishment project. The clients were Enterprise Healthcare Ltd and North Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust. CorLa were the Employers Agent on this project and led by Brian Pluck. Sean Watts was the Independent Certifier working for WSP UK Ltd at the time. This project was complex in its nature and was completed successfully with Carillion Ltd as the building contractor. Following this project Sean left WSP UK Ltd to join CorLa. CorLa already have a successful Independent Certifier in Howard Winfield.
